Tina Naqvi-Rota
Tina Naqvi-Rota is the CEO of Cameron Corporation, a Canadian real estate development company, started in 1980 by her parents, Javaid and Henrietta Naqvi. Tina, her brother, sister, husband, brother-in-law, and daughter all work in the business today.
Cameron’s primary focus is the development and management of commercial real estate projects, primarily, Grocery Anchored and Power Centre developments, its most notable being the 2.3 million square foot South Edmonton Common open air shopping center. In addition, Cameron Corporation operates land development, homebuilding, multi-family, and real estate investment divisions.
Cameron has built its organization through partnerships with both family owned and publicly owned partners, including Grosvenor (owned by the Duke of Westminster and family); Choice REIT (largest REIT in Canada, controlled by the Weston family); Harvard Developments (the Hill family); Graham Construction (the Graham family); IMCO (Ontario Pension Board); and AIMCO (Alberta Investment Management Company).
Tina achieved her Civil Engineering Degree in 1990 and her MBA in 1995, both from the University of Alberta. Tina completed her ICD.D Designation in 2020.
Over time, Tina has used her education, professional experience, and love of community to give back to numerous organizations and committees, including the Alberta School of Business, Autism Edmonton, Norquest College, and KV Capital Mortgage Fund. In addition, her passion for the complexities and nuances of family-run businesses has seen her continue to learn and share her learnings with others.
Tina has lived in and raised her three children (27, 24, and 20 years old) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. With her considerable business activity, she has maintained a huge commitment to family, most particularly her son, who has high functioning autism.
